What Is BroadBand Light?
BBL uses intense pulsed light to address selected pigmentation and redness concerns. Although often called a “BBL laser,” it is a light-based treatment rather than a laser. The treatment settings and targets depend on the skin concern and the provider’s assessment.
What Concerns Can BBL Address?
A consultation may focus on sun-related spots, uneven pigment, or certain types of redness. The cause of a mark matters: not every brown spot or red area should receive light treatment. A changing or suspicious lesion needs medical evaluation before a cosmetic procedure.
If uneven texture or deeper scarring is your main concern, ask how BBL compares with HALO laser resurfacing. Treatments serve different purposes, and combining them is an individual decision rather than a requirement.
Before You Schedule

Recovery and Skin Care
Redness, warmth, or swelling may occur, and treated pigment may temporarily darken before it fades. Burns, blistering, changes in pigmentation, and scarring are possible. Follow the treating provider’s instructions for sun protection and skin care, and ask when to restart active products.
