Injectable treatments serve different purposes. Some soften expression lines, others add volume, and another targets fat beneath the chin. At SARA Surgery in Morton Grove, we start with the change you want and help you understand which category, if any, fits your concerns.

Wrinkle Relaxers
Neuromodulators temporarily reduce selected muscle activity to soften certain expression lines. SARA’s options include Botox, Dysport, and Daxxify. Our Botox and Dysport page explains the approach and what to discuss before treatment. These products have different dosing and prescribing information.
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
Juvederm and Restylane include products designed for selected folds, facial volume, and contour concerns. The choice of gel and placement depends on the area and your anatomy. Filler adds volume; it does not work in the same way as a wrinkle relaxer.
Sculptra and Radiesse
Sculptra and Radiesse are different injectable materials used for selected volume and contour concerns. Their timing, treatment plans, and suitability differ from hyaluronic acid fillers. Ask which material is proposed and why it fits the area being treated.
Kybella
Kybella targets fat beneath the chin in appropriate adults. A consultation helps distinguish fat from loose skin or other causes of fullness. It is not a general weight-loss treatment.
Choosing a Treatment Around Your Goals
A useful consultation covers your priorities, previous procedures, medical history, and the amount of change you expect. Tell your provider about medications, allergies, past reactions, and pregnancy or breastfeeding. Ask about alternatives, the overall cost, and how follow-up will work.
If excess skin or tissue position is your main concern, injections may not address it. We can discuss whether facial plastic surgery is a more relevant option to explore.
Allow Time for Results and Recovery
There is no single recovery timeline for all injectables. Results may develop gradually, and swelling can temporarily change the appearance. Plan around work and social commitments rather than assuming treatment has no downtime.
Injections are medical procedures with potential side effects and complications. These vary by product and include bruising, swelling, infection, and less common serious problems. Review the specific product information and aftercare with your provider, including which symptoms need urgent medical attention.
